I have facilitated organizational planning projects as well as managed CEO transitions and other significant organizational change projects for over 100 organizations throughout the United States. I have worked with a wide variety of organizations from religious groups to universities, from startup organizations to $1+ billion entities, from local organizations to international groups with operations around the globe, from endowed foundations to associations and professional societies. I authored the book Chief Executive Transitions: How to Hire and Support a Nonprofit CEO (published by BoardSource), which won the McAdam Book Award for its contribution to the nonprofit management literature. Chief Executive Transitions has been adopted or adapted by a number of national networks, such as the YMCA of the USA, as their guide to help their affiliates manage CEO turnover.
